Looking for a New Job? The Library has information on careers and the world of work to help you in your search. Check our shelves for books in our collection or click here for a list of titles available through University Libraries. You can use the Library to find job openings and research companies. Locate books that will help you write great cover letters and resumes or ace that job interview! (Posted May 28, 2009).

An improved look for Scientific American. Kent State Libraries now have access to page images (*.pdf) of Scientific American through KentLINK. Do a title search for Scientific American archive online. This provides access to all the pictures, charts, and graphs of the print version. (Posted 6/10/2008)

KentLINK/ Google Interface. KentLINK now offers an interface with Google Books. If Kent owns a book that is part of Google Books, you will now see links that say "Preview at Google Books," "Information at Google Books," or, in some cases, "Read." Information may include the publisher's description or excerpts from reviews. Preview will include excerpts from the book ; Read provides full text of the book.. All of this provides more information about the book than you might get from the catalog record alone.

Google now partners with libraries to bring books online. If you need a copy of Machiavelli's The Prince, for example you can use the Google Book Search (at the bottom of the advanced search page) to find the book and click on any book title to see the table of contents, preview the text, and see other information. You can click one of the links under "Buy this Book" to go straight to a bookstore selling that book online, and you can click "Find this book in a library" to find it at libraries near you. Click to select a library, and the computer takes you right into the library catalog where you can place an online request to borrow the book. (Posted 4/23/2008)
