The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is designed for students who wish to pursue a professional degree in nursing. It prepares the graduate to provide entry level nursing care in a variety of health care settings and provides management and leadership skills necessary for today's health care provider. The BSN builds the framework for graduate study in nursing. This program of study is offered to beginning generic students at the Salem Campus, as well as registered nurses who are interested in obtaining their professional degree. The four year baccalaureate nursing program is offered at the Salem Campus. Students may complete the full, 4-year degree program at the Salem Campus.
The Salem Campus is the first Kent State campus to offer the four-year nursing degree on a 3 year, eight semester schedule, for those capable students looking to gain a BSN as quick as possible. Of the 50-60 new nursing students accepted each year, at least 10 are given the opportunity to complete their course work in three years by attending unique summer sessions.
